Job Description
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and responsible individual to join our dance studio team as a Substitute Dance Teacher, Teaching Assistant, and Receptionist. The ideal candidate is passionate about dance, enjoys working with children, and is willing to help with various studio responsibilities as needed.
This position is for someone who can step in when staff members are absent, assist with dance classes, support instructors, and help manage front-desk operations.
Responsibilities:
Substitute Dance Teacher
- Lead dance classes when the regular instructor is unavailable.
- Follow lesson plans and maintain a positive, fun, and safe learning environment.
- Teach age-appropriate dance techniques and help students build confidence and skills.
- Maintain classroom structure, discipline, and student engagement.
Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Assist dance instructors during classes and rehearsals.
- Help students learn choreography, follow instructions, and stay focused.
- Supervise students and help with class transitions.
- Assist with recital preparation, costumes, and other studio activities as needed.
Receptionist / Front Desk
- Greet families and students in a friendly, professional manner.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with registration.
- Help manage attendance, schedules, and general front-desk duties.
- Keep the reception area organized and welcoming.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous dance experience or dance teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with children is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, flexible, and able to adapt to changing responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn studio procedures and follow established policies.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
