Job Title: Lead Teacher
Job Overview:
As the Toddler/Early Preschool Room Co-Teacher at our daycare, you'll create a loving, safe, and engaging space for toddlers aged 12 to 36 months. Your role is to support their growth through fun and educational activities, while working closely with parents and your team to ensure each child’s well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Care and Supervision: Offer attentive care for toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining a clean environment. Ensure the safety and well-being of each child through constant supervision.
- Developmental Activities: Plan and lead activities that support toddlers' physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, such as sensory play, tummy time, music, movement, and story time.
- Individualized Attention: Observe and assess each child's progress, adjusting activities to meet their unique needs. Provide personalized support to help each child grow and thrive.
- Communication: Keep parents informed about their child’s daily activities, progress, and any concerns. Provide updates through conversations, daily reports, and meetings.
- Collaboration: Work with other staff members to ensure a consistent approach to care and routines. Participate in team meetings and professional development to stay current in your field.
- Safety and Health: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including sanitation practices, safe sleep protocols, and emergency procedures. Monitor and report any signs of illness or discomfort.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of care routines, developmental milestones, and incidents. Ensure all paperwork is completed promptly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 30 star hours or equivalent; childcare certification or early childhood education preferred.
- Plan to obtain an ECE Short Certificate if you don't already have one.
- Experience with infants or toddlers in a childcare setting.
- Knowledgeable about infant development, care practices, and safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with toddlers, parents, and colleagues.
- Patient, compassionate, and genuinely enthusiastic about working with young children.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
- CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear criminal background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry toddlers and supplies up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
- Energy and stamina to actively engage with toddlers throughout the day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
