Registered Nurse

Starkville Pediatric Extended Care is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) facility. We have an immediate openings for a FULL-TIME REGISTERED NURSE.

Candidate would preferably have two years of pediatric experience, particularly with children with special needs, medically fragile children, and/or technologically dependent children. Responsibilities will include providing skilled nursing services to children with complex medical needs in a day health center setting. Must be available to work Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 8 hour shifts. Hours may vary.

Requirements: RN with current unrestricted Mississippi license and a minimum of two years pediatric experience - preferably with children having complex medical needs. Must have or be willing to obtain pediatric CPR, PALS, and basic first aid certification. Drug screen and federal background check required before employment. Initial COVID-19 vaccination series required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be up-to-date on immunizations, including COVID-19 vaccination.
• Strength: Sufficient to assist with lifting and transferring a patient and perform CPR
• Mobility: Sufficient mobility to bend, stoop, and bend down to the floor; ability to move around rapidly; and to move in small, confined areas.
• Hearing: Sufficient to hear through the stethoscope to discriminate sounds; to hear cries for help; to hear alarms on equipment and emergency signals; and various overhead pages.
• Vision: Sufficient to make physical assessments of patients and equipment.
• Communication: Able to communicate in both verbal and written formats; and interact with clients, staff, and faculty supervisors.

Weekdays only - No nights, no call, and no major holidays!
