Starkey Hearing is looking for a software engineer to join our software engineering team in our R&D team. You will join a talented team and help make an impact with a cutting-edge medical device company that is making a difference in people’s lives around the world. We are looking for a passionate and innovative engineer with strong object-oriented skills to help create the future of our customer facing software application used to configure hearing aids. Primary objective of this position is to participate in or support software development to meet schedule and performance goals for Starkey’s software systems.

Job Responsibilities/Results

Apply technical skills, commensurate with formal training and moderate experience, to develop software.

  • Choose between alternative proven techniques with some originality and moderate technical ris
  • Develop software using prior software and state of the art technique
  • Conduct simple software investigations and software tests.

Work with detailed project plans and schedules that may exceed several months.

  • Participate in formation of project schedule
  • Help plan for availability of needed capital equipment

Interact on a regular basis, with other functional groups and customers on technical matters.

  • Work with outside consultants and experts
  • Interact with other functional groups in various support roles.

Administer technical procedures

  • Maintain a record of all software developmental activiti
  • Prepare various project related reports including Software Specification and Software
  • Design reports 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

  • Education 
    • Bachelor’s in Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field
    • Masters Degree is desired.
  • Experience
    • Proficiency in object-oriented principles and design
    • Innovative mindset
    • Ability to thrive in a team environment

Knowledge / Technical Requirements 

  • Proficiency in Object Oriented development concepts required.
  • Working knowledge in .NET/C#
  • Java, Kotlin
  • Swift, Objective C
  • TypeScript, JavaScript libraries (Angular JS)

  • Good organizational skills required.

Starkey is looking for an entry-level software engineer to join our automation and infrastructure team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing automated tests, infrastructure, and customized solutions that support Starkey’s flagship applications. Our team works with various stacks that include C#, .NET, Angular, and modern automation frameworks like Appium. You will join a small, tight-knit, and growing team of experienced, intelligent developers working to build infrastructure that aids in development of exciting new hearing aid products. 

No former professional experience is required for this position. Someone who is highly collaborative, innovative, and eager to learn will thrive here! 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with other engineers to develop automated solutions to business problems 
  • Work with product test managers and engineering teams to deliver automated solutions that meet the needs of a dynamic organization 
  • Participate in design discussions within cross-functional teams 
  • Document test processes and communicate results to key product stakeholders 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field 
  • Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, such as Java or C# 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous professional or intern experience on a software development team 
  • Experience with mobile, desktop, or web automation frameworks like Appium or Selenium 
  • Experience with C# or .net object-oriented programming

Salary and Other Compensation: 

The target pay rate for this position is between $66,220 – $90,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. 

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
