Stark Pavement Corporation is seeking a skilled, versatile Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Concrete Division. We are looking for an experienced professional who takes pride in precision work and is capable of managing multiple types of equipment to ensure project excellence from start to finish.
About the Role
As a key member of our concrete crew, you won’t just be sitting in one seat. We need a well-rounded operator who can seamlessly transition between tasks—from fine grading and curb placement to site preparation and heavy equipment logistics. If you are an experienced operator who values autonomy, works with a "get-it-done" attitude, and enjoys variety in your daily workflow, we want to talk to you.
Core Responsibilities
Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of machinery, including but not limited to curb machines, graders, excavators, and GPS-equipped dozers, with a focus on accuracy and production.
Equipment Transport: Utilize your Class A CDL to safely haul heavy equipment to and from job sites.
Site Preparation: Assist the grade crew as needed; interpret stakes and blueprints to ensure subgrade meets exact project specifications.
Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily equipment walk-arounds, fluid checks, and routine greasing. Maintain a proactive approach to job site safety and mentorship of crew members.
Collaboration: Communicate clearly with superintendents and crew members to coordinate daily production goals and safety protocols.
Requirements
Experience: 2–5 years of heavy equipment operation in road or heavy civil construction.
Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. CDL is a plus
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with GPS machine control systems.
Versatility: Proven ability to operate a curb machine, grader, excavator, and dozer effectively.
Work Ethic: Ability to work long hours, including overtime and Saturdays as project schedules require. Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
Mindset: Self-motivated, dependable, and a team player who takes ownership of their equipment and their work.
