Title: Consultant

 

Supervisor:  Director of Teaching & Learning

 

Summary/Objective:  Responsible for supporting affiliated districts in the area of teaching, learning, and instructional leadership through networks and professional learning.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Secure and maintain a valid Ohio Educator License as required by placement or assignment
  • Hold or complete a current Ohio BCI and Federal Background check free of disqualifying infractions
  • At least five years successful classroom teaching experience
  • Coaching and instructional leadership experience 
  • Recent building principal and/or Central Office leadership experience
  • Efficiently operate and use technology such as Google suite
  • Adhere to the Stark County Educational Service Center (SCESC) Governing Board policies/administrative guidelines/staff handbook, policies of the assigned district/worksite, and the to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators
  • Promote the proper use, care, and security of SCESC property and report misconduct, vandalism, equipment malfunctions, and other concerns
  • Advance the professional image of the SCESC and affiliate districts
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and colleagues promoting a cohesive work environment
  • Embody high ethical standards, integrity, and accept responsibility for decisions and conduct
  • Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
  • Participate (and pass where applicable) in all required Public School Works training
  • Report suspected child abuse and/or neglect to supervisor and/or civil authorities as required by law
  • Maintain confidentiality of student related information
  • A strong understanding of Ohio’s Learning Standards
  • Such alternatives or additions to the above as deemed appropriate by the ESC Superintendent

 

Essential Functions:

  • Research and provide support to ESC-affiliated districts to improve teaching and learning – including: 
    • planning and facilitating educator and administrator networks and providing evidence-based practices through professional learning
    • collaborating with district educators and leaders to provide guidance and strategies for successful student outcomes 
    • serving as a guide/liaison between state mandates and district implementation

 

Essential Functions continued:

  • Prepare for and facilitate Educator/Administrator meetings for assigned content area(s)
  • Maintain a positive and productive relationship with ESC-affiliated districts and community partners
  • Assist with planning, development, and implementation of grant programs
  • Attend state, regional, and local meetings, conferences and trainings
  • Assist with the implementation of Stark County Board of Education policies and administrative regulations; and, compliance requirements of State/Federal regulations
  • Perform other specific duties as assigned

  • Balancing, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching and standing
  • Lifting, carrying, and moving work-related supplies and/or equipment
  • Operate and/or ride in a vehicle
  • Work at various heights, in confined spaces, and/or invariable/diminished lighting
  • Report misconduct or violations of policy and procedures to the direct supervisor, appropriate administrator or legal authority (mandating reporting)

Job performance is evaluated according to the policy and procedures adopted by the Stark County Educational Service Center Governing Board.
