Job Purpose:

Prepare accurate individual income tax returns in a timely and efficient manner.

General Position Information:

• Flexible hours include days, evening and/or Saturdays. Full or part-time.
• Seasonal January-April w/ opportunity for some hours the remainder of the year.
• Ability to work independently in a group office setting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to solve problems & identify issues.
• Hourly rate based on education, experience and skill level.
• Advancement opportunity available to become a Reviewer.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Review and organize client documents for tax preparation.
• Prepare simple to complex tax returns for individuals, based on your skill level.
• Become educated on appropriate adjustments, deductions & credits available.
• Effectively communicate the need for additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.
• Use of internet & printed resources, email and phones to obtain additional information needed for tax preparation.
• Record and document tax information needed to prepare tax returns.
• Furnish tax reviewers with sufficient information to determine accuracy of tax returns without additional time toward tax preparation.
• Check data input or verify totals on forms prepared to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or tax procedures.

Experience and Education:

• 2 Years experience in individual tax preparation.
• Experience with UltraTax software a plus.
• Ability to obtain a valid PTIN is required.

Job Types: Seasonal, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
