POSITON SUMMARY:
The Intake Therapist provides a wide range of services including assessment, crisis interventions, making necessary referrals, and obtaining authorizations for services to children, youth, families, and adult clients of Starfish Family Services. Team members in this position function with a great deal of professional autonomy under the supervision of the Program Supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work or a related human services field required.
- Current valid professional license/certification in the State of Michigan. Full Licensure is required.
- At least two (2) years previous related experience required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assessments and referral services to children, youth, families and adult clients of Starfish Family Services.
- Provide support and crisis intervention to children, youth, families and adults.
- Assist in coordination and referrals of support services to parents.
- Provide individual, group and family treatment to assigned clients.
- Maintain weekly productivity expectations as determined by supervisor.
- Maintain clinical charts in an accurate and timely manner to include, but not limited to assessments and all other MDCH chart requirements.
- Make intra-agency referrals for evaluations, consultation, and other services, e.g. parent education.
LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license and / or reliable transportation.
