Duties
- Prepare examination supplies and assist healthcare providers during patient visits to ensure a comfortable experience
- Take vital signs, record patient histories, and document medical information accurately in electronic health records
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing and prepare samples for analysis following proper protocols
- Administer medications or other treatments as directed by our providers, adhering to safety standards
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks
- Communicate clearly with patients about procedures, follow-up care, and health education to promote understanding and compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas to uphold infection control standards
- This is a MOBILE POSITION, requiring arrival at our Merrillville office and then traveling to and from patient homes with a provider (field work)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required
- Proven experience in a clinical setting or healthcare environment is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and basic clinical procedures
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Our hours are 9am to 5pm, however flexibility to work extended hours may be needed
- Ability to demonstrate reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts and scheduled patient visits
