This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading the development and implementation of pricing strategies that align with Starbucks business objectives and market positioning. This role designs pricing frameworks based on customer value, segmentations, competitive analysis, and cost structures, while partnering with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Marketing, and Product to ensure alignment. The role also monitors market trends, evaluates pricing effectiveness, and recommends strategic adjustments to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. As a Pricing Strategy Lead, you will… • Design and implement pricing strategies and recommendations based on product elasticities, competitive analysis, customer segmentation, and cost structures. • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Marketing, Product, and Analytics to align pricing decisions with product strategies and revenue objectives. • Evaluate and optimize pricing frameworks, including promotional programs, LTOs, channel strategies, and upsell opportunities to maximize profitability. • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape, providing insights and recommendations for strategic pricing decisions. • Develop and maintain pricing infrastructure, including governance processes, tools, and reporting systems to ensure consistency and compliance. • Guide complex projects and initiatives, influencing pricing decisions at an enterprise level. We’d love to hear from people with: • Expertise in pricing strategy development, including market segmentation, menu pricing architecture, and competitive positioning. • Strong business acumen and a curious mindset with the ability to align pricing strategies to organizational goals. • Leadership and project management skills to guide complex pricing initiatives and mentor team members. • Advanced analytical and modeling capabilities, including scenario planning and impact analysis of pricing actions on ticket, traffic, and margins. • Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders and drive strategic decisions. • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. • 7 years of relevant experience, including strategic pricing, revenue management, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
