Starbird is Salem’s neighborhood cannabis dispensary — locally owned, community-rooted, and dedicated to offering a smooth, friendly, and trustworthy experience. We’re now hiring a strategic, content-savvy, data-driven SEO and Inbound Marketing Lead to help grow our digital footprint and drive real, qualified traffic to our website.
This is not a social media management role — we already have a dedicated team for Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels. Your job is to own our SEO and inbound pipeline: researching keywords, creating helpful content, optimizing our website, and building our authority online.
Role Summary
As our SEO and Inbound Marketing Lead, you’ll be responsible for executing a modern SEO strategy focused on topical authority, helpful content, and trust-building backlinks. You’ll also be a registered cannabis agent (or willing to become one), able to help support retail operations during high-traffic times.
What You’ll Do
SEO Strategy & Execution (Primary Focus)
- Conduct keyword research and competitive gap analysis
- Optimize service and product pages (title tags, meta descriptions, alt text, schema, etc.)
- Create blog and landing page content that drives organic traffic and converts
- Build internal links and support backlink strategies from trusted sources
- Help establish topical authority through consistent, helpful content in the cannabis space
- Monitor and improve site performance (Core Web Vitals, speed, crawl errors)
- Maintain Google Business Profile optimization (local SEO)
- Report on performance weekly and monthly (traffic, conversions, keyword rankings)
