What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager – Public Safety Retail position at Star Uniform?
We’re looking for a hands-on Store Manager to run our Indianapolis location. This is not a sit-in-the-office retail job. You’ll be on the floor, working with customers, managing your team, solving problems, and making sure the store runs the way it should—every day. Our customers include law enforcement, fire, and public safety professionals. They expect accuracy, urgency, and professionalism—and so do we.
What You’ll Do
- Run the day-to-day operations of the store
- Lead and develop a small team (sales floor, operations, fulfillment)
- Work directly with customers to ensure orders are accurate and on time
- Manage inventory, incoming product, and vendor issues
- Handle the unexpected—backorders, rush orders, customer issues, etc.
- Coordinate with other store locations and leadership

Hours & Schedule
This role typically averages 40–45 hours per week, with additional hours during peak seasonal periods and large department projects. We’re looking for someone who understands that when the business is busy, the role requires stepping in and getting the job done.
