Position Summary
Star Sign Inc. is seeking an experienced, reliable, and hands-on Lead Sign Installer to join our team.
This is not just an installation role—it is a leadership position. The Lead Installer is responsible for executing high-quality sign installations while leading crews, maintaining jobsite safety, solving field challenges, and representing the company professionally.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical ability, leadership experience, sound judgment, and takes ownership of their work from start to finish. Professional appearance and conduct are expected. Our installers are the face of Star Sign Inc. on every jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Install a wide range of signage including vinyl graphics, ADA signage, channel letters, monument signs, post-and-panel signs, and more
- Read and interpret install maps, site plans, and production packets
- Lead and manage installation crews on job sites
- Delegate tasks appropriately and maintain crew efficiency
- Operate trucks, trailers, lifts (including up to 65’ boom lifts), and other job site equipment
- Ensure all work is completed safely and according to company standards
- Troubleshoot installation issues and make sound field decisions when conditions change
- Represent Star Sign professionally with clients, contractors, and inspectors
- Travel for installations as needed, including overnight stays (typically 1–2 weeks per month depending on workload)
- Perform quality control checks before job completion
- Complete job documentation including photos, notes, and completion checklists
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean and working condition
- Train, mentor, and develop newer installers
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in sign installation, construction, electrical, fabrication, or related trades preferred
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a crew effectively
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in outdoor conditions year-round
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required (CDL is a plus)
- Forklift or aerial lift experience/certification is a plus (training provided if needed)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel when needed, including overnight stays
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $20–$26/hour DOE
- Travel Premium: Additional 15% pay for hours worked during overnight travel
- Per Diem: Daily per diem provided during overnight travel
- Overtime opportunities available
