Job Scope/Duties
- Assists with the development and support of Community and Business Development plans designed to promote Star One’s brand and reputation, increase membership and make a positive contribution in the communities Star One serves.
- Professionally represents Star One at various corporate and community events including volunteer functions and promotional campaigns.
- Drives membership growth and broadens Star One’s visibility by building and strengthening relationships with businesses and community partners.
- Assists with executing marketing initiatives and reports on business development goals.
- Organizes and delivers workshops and webinars to prospective members and partners.
- Promotes Star One’s brand and financial products during chamber and community events and mixers.
- Identifies new business opportunities and sells credit union products.
- Assists with the research and development of new business partnerships, cultivates membership growth at Corporate Partners (formerly known as Select Employer Groups or SEGs) and is responsible for managing new and ongoing relationships.
- Supports Star One's Scholarship Program, Financial Wellness Program in schools and financial educational workshops/webinars
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or other related discipline preferred, or the equivalent level of education and experience.
- Requires a minimum of six (6) years current and progressive experience in community development, business development, and/or public/community relations within a credit union or financial institution.
- Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) registration may be required upon hire.
- Requires excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of credit union products, marketing techniques and financial services. Must be well organized, detail oriented and have strong judgment with the ability to make timely decisions.
- Creative, flexible, innovative, team player with excellent service and sales skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize tasks and successfully complete multiple competing projects.
- Must be proficient with technology (computers, iPads, mobile phones, tablets) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be a strong team player with the ability to work in a diverse group or as an individual contributor.
- Must be able to independently lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
- A valid California Driver’s License and good driving record is required, along with the ability to travel frequently to off-site location and events.
