This facility is a state-run behavioral health facility in Big Spring, Texas, dedicated to providing inpatient psychiatric and mental health services for adults in need of specialized care. This facility offers healthcare professionals the opportunity to work in a structured clinical environment while supporting an important patient population.
Assignment Details
Location: Big Spring, TX 79720
Facility: SSLC / Psych/ Behavioral
Start date: Able to start any day during the week (M-F), given 5 days before start date for processing all pre-employment requirements.
Contract: 6 months minimum
Shifts: Shifts are alternating to meet staffing needs / Every other weekend off / 8hr/ 40hrs weekly
Minimum of 2-3 weeks of on unit mentorship with a seasoned RN
Needs: 2x RN
RN pay rate: $48-$52.hr
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs various patient care duties under the supervision of the Unit Nurse Manager.
- Provide care for patients – manage psychiatric / medical emergency, complete nursing assessments for new admissions
- Perform computer data entry – Receive full training
- Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, BSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.
Requirements:
Step # 1
- Resume - long-term care experience
- Nursing license – RN (Texas, Multistate License Accepted)
- Current - BLS/CPR
- Skills checklist
- 1 to 2– current -Supervisor references
- Driver's License
- SSN Card
Step # 2
- Physical (within the last 12 months)
- PPD (within the last 12 months)
- MMR, Varicella,
- Hep B (or decline)
- Tdap/Flu (or decline)
- COVID – results – negative – current
- Exams
- LGBT Training Certification
- Must be able to pass background/ urine drug screen
