Yard workers are a crucial member of the Star Nursery team. It is their duty to maintain the upkeep and staging of plant material at the store. Some of their duties include offloading material from trucks, stocking them where they belong and performing general care for the plants while maintaining safe working conditions. The yard team is normally at the store early in the morning so that they are ready when the trucks come in.
Job Description:
- Follows operations standards for safe operations, quality control, loss prevention,and plant care.
- Follows policies in the areas of operations techniques, materials usage.
- Loading and unloading plant material
- Operating a forklift
- Product quality control
- Plant maintenance (watering, cleaning, pruning)
- Stocking & Labeling
- Store upkeep
- Receiving, Stocking & Moving Merchandise
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan in short/ long term ranges
- The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
