The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and performance during the selection process. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other economics including carried interest in Star Mountain funds. Position Description
- Strategic Events Leadership: Lead the global events strategy supporting institutional, private wealth, consultant, and insurance fundraising channels as well as events focused on deal origination; ensure all events reinforce Star Mountain’s brand positioning and key commercial priorities.
- Calendar Ownership & Senior Reporting: Oversee a robust events calendar that supports firmwide growth goals, spanning both Star Mountain–hosted events and third party-hosted events Star Mountain team members speak at / attend.
- End-to-End Event Execution: Oversee the full life cycle of events including research, concept development, agenda design, messaging and strategic themes, speaker sourcing (including keynote speakers, and other high-impact partners), guest list generation, timelines, cost proposals, venue selection, negotiation/contracting, event design/production, on-site delivery, and post-event follow-ups.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee and manage a diversified portfolio of Star Mountain-branded events, in-house/internal business events, and third-party conferences/sponsorship activations, including investor forums, roadshows, executive roundtables, and thought-leadership programs for clients and prospects.
- Sponsorship Programs: Design, scale, and execute multi-tier sponsorship programs for conferences and investor events by defining value propositions, pricing, benefits packages, and renewal strategies to generate recurring revenue, elevate event quality, and build long-term strategic partnerships across the asset management ecosystem.
- Third-Party Event Strategy: Evaluate and analyze prospective third-party event attendance and speaking roles for the Star Mountain full time Senior Team and/or Senior Advisors/Operating Partners; develop a robust external event circuit for the senior fundraising team and/or senior origination team (speaking engagements, conferences, networking events) and liaise with hosts to manage all Star Mountain-related activities.
- Budget Management: Drive budgeting and financial stewardship for event programs, ensuring cost efficiency, accurate forecasting, and strong vendor discipline.
- Commercial Partnership & Pipeline: Collaborate closely with Star Mountain’s fundraising as well as deal originations teams to tailor event experiences that provide actionable insights, facilitate capital-raising and origination conversations, and support pipeline development; develop and maintain potential client pipelines and coordinate post-event follow-through with the relevant senior team members.
- Data, Analytics, CRM & Automation: Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards to measure ROI, lead generation, client engagement, and event-driven fundraising/origination outcomes; utilize CRM and marketing automation platforms to analyze attendee behavior, enhance targeting, drive follow-up workflows, and strengthen long-term client lifecycle management.
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead and mentor a global events function, fostering innovation and operational excellence; oversee and develop direct reports, establish clear performance metrics and professional development pathways, and coordinate closely with legal, compliance, marketing, portfolio managers, and commercial teams to ensure alignment, risk management, and flawless execution.
- Innovation & Digital Transformation: Lead the adoption of emerging event technologies (AI-driven personalization, virtual event platforms, digital tracking, interactive content tools).
- 10 years of progressive events management experience, within financial services, private equity, or asset management; exposure to investor relations marketing and/or experiential strategy preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading high-profile deal origination and/or fundraising events from concept through completion.
- Strong understanding of investor and/or deal origination communications, relationship management, and event ROI analysis.
- Proven leadership and people management skills; ability to inspire and develop team members.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with senior executives and multiple departments.
- High proficiency in CRM, Notion, and other marketing tools related to analytics and digital content
- Superior technical aptitude and digital-native comfort level essential for success in our highly tech-enabled, fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (event management, marketing, communications) preferred.
- Timing: Immediate.
- Location & Travel: Must be willing to work 5 days per week out of the Tampa, Florida office with travel to events, as required.
