POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Compliance and Reporting Specialist completes and supports critical accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across various ERP system modules. This role focuses on maintaining GAAP and JSOX compliance by preparing balance sheet reconciliations, conducting inter-company reconciliations, and supporting sales and use tax compliance through Avalara. The position involves performing detailed financial analyses, completing quarterly audit schedules, and deeply supporting monthly marketing and company’s bi-annual budget reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, work effectively both independently and in teams, and demonstrate expert knowledge of accounting & financial compliance principles.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Complete and oversee some of the most critical Accounting Dept processes including accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
· Coordinate the timely and accurate close of the various modules in the ERP system, i.e., Sales, AP, AR, General Ledger, Inventory, etc.
· Assist with monthly financial statement reports and provide analyses and explanations of balance sheet and income statement variances.
· Perform inter-company reconciliations, as well as prepare all balance sheet reconciliations for Controller approval.
· Audit expense reporting using company expense software; Concur SAP.
· Support preparation and coordination of bi-annual budgets.
· End-to-end management of Marketing departmental budget funds, including co-op and MDF for ALL SMA territories.
· Complete schedules or review and approve calculations used to develop manual journal entries, i.e., prepaid, fixed assets, warranty liability percent and amount, slow move percent and amount, RMA reclass, monthly tax provision, etc.
· Support Accounting Manager with the Avalara process to assure sales and use tax compliance in all states
· Assist with ensuring compliance with GAAP and JSOX as well as maintain detailed JSOX documentation.
· Work on special projects as assigned and ad hoc reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. Year over year experience can be substituted for formal education requirement.
· Minimum 7-10 years' experience in Corporate Finance or Accounting role required.
· Working knowledge of SAP Business One or similar ERP system required.
· Proficient expert in MS Office, specifically MS Excel required. Familiarity with MS Teams a plus.
· Moderate J-SOX or Sarbanes Oxley experience a plus. Basic knowledge required.
5-7 years people management experience a plus
