Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting homeowners insurance risks, ensuring sound risk selection and pricing strategies that align with company objectives. Success in this position requires strong technical knowledge of homeowners insurance, sound judgment, and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with agents, brokers, and internal teams. You will also play a key role in ensuring regulatory complianceand supporting the company’s distribution strategy, with reporting responsibilities that connect into the SVP of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite new and renewal Homeowners accounts.
- Analyze property risk exposures, coverage needs, and competitive pricing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with agents and distribution partners to develop tailored insurance solutions.
- Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Contribute to portfolio management, profitability goals, and operational efficiency.
- Support reporting and communication with senior leadership
- Communicate with external software partners to identify issues, document requirements, and ensure timely solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated professional experience in insurance underwriting
- Minimum 3-5 years of Homeowners UW experience in FL Market
- Experience building positive relationships with agents and team members.
- Willingness to think outside the box when evaluating risk and reviewing exceptions
