Position Summary:
We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support and improve the performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness of our existing product lines. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure continuous product improvement, resolve design-related issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own engineering support for legacy products, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Investigate and resolve product issues including design defects, supplier changes, and field returns.
- Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising performance or quality.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement product updates and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs.
- Evaluate components and materials for potential obsolescence and implement suitable alternatives.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure ongoing product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in sustaining, product support, or manufacturing engineering (preferably in industrial equipment or foodservice manufacturing).
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), ERP systems, and engineering change processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with UL, NSF, and other applicable foodservice equipment certifications is a plus.
