Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across various machinery used in industrial, agricultural, and transportation settings. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed diagnostics using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational requirements.
- Service and repair vehicle components including brake systems, alignments, HVAC systems, tires, powertrain assemblies, and electrical systems.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during troubleshooting or repair procedures when necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and parts used for each service job.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during all maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic software to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools including wrenches, soldering irons, welding equipment, tire service tools, and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Certification or training in relevant areas such as HVAC systems or industrial equipment maintenance is advantageous.
