Job description:
Star Equipment Ltd. is looking for a parts and rental counter person for our Ames, Iowa location, at 2100 E Lincoln Way.We are a construction equipment distributor. We have been in the market for 50 years, and are a family-owned company. We sell and service major brands including Husqvarna, Multiquip, Gehl, Mustang, Takeuchi and Schwing.
You will be handling walk-in and phone customers, counter sales of rental, parts sales, light maintenance on rental equipment. We are willing to train the right candidate for the job.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet walk-in customers, answer phone calls
- Process all in-store transactions: equipment, parts, supplies
- Light Maintenance on rental equipment.
- Stock parts in parts bins & display areas
- Price items on display floor. shipping and receiving.
- Check out rental equipment to customer, demonstration operation of equipment.
- Price local parts and services to get the best price and quality for the shop
- Issue purchase orders for the items, post to the job or if supplies for the shop forward to accounting.
- Housekeeping daily; building maintenance as needed.
- Update price books.
- Parts runs
- Cross train where possible.
- Other misc. duties as needed.
Personal Qualifications:
- Ability to operate delivery equipment
- Ability to Lift 100 lbs
- Class A CDL Commercial License or ability to get license
- General Knowledge of Construction Equipment
- Clean Driving Record
- Basic computer skills
Prior experience at automotive parts counter would be ideal.
