Position Summary
The Junior Technician works closely with Senior Technicians, the Technical Sales/Project Manager, and company leadership to assist with telecommunications installations, service projects, and daily operational tasks. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, willingness to travel, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPhysical Requirements
- Remain on feet for extended periods (8 hours daily)
- Lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly
- Position ladders, move cable, and transport equipment/tools
- Work safely at heights, including ladders, rooftops, lifts, and elevated areas
- Maintain alertness and awareness while driving and working on job sites
Project & Technical Support
- Assist Senior Technicians with telecommunications installations and service work
- Support cable installation projects, including routing and installing ¼” or larger cable
- Assist with vehicle equipment installations, including radios, microphones, speakers, and related systems in vehicles ranging from sedans to buses
- Maintain readiness and assist proactively during installations and service calls
- Adapt to varying work schedules depending on project needs
Administrative & Communication Duties
- Communicate effectively with the Technical Sales/Project Manager and company leadership
- Report hotel or travel accommodation discrepancies when traveling
- Submit vacation, sick leave, and appointment requests appropriately
- Track per diem expenses accurately
- Communicate payroll discrepancies or concerns when necessary
- Submit receipts and assist with documentation as requested
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel out of town approximately 75% of the time
- Comfortable driving in cities, traffic, toll roads, bridges, roundabouts, and unfamiliar areas
Continued Learning & Development
- Demonstrate active listening and willingness to learn from Senior Technicians
- Obtain required certifications, including lift certifications and safety training as needed
- Learn and apply OSHA-compliant safety procedures
- Continuously improve technical and communication skills
