Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced E-Commerce Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee all e-commerce distribution and fulfillment operations. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of direct-to-consumer (DTC) order fulfillment, including picking, packing, shipping, returns processing, and inventory management for our online sales channels. The E-Commerce Warehouse Manager ensures fast, accurate, and cost-effective fulfillment while driving continuous improvement across e-commerce warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct all daily e-commerce warehouse operations, including DTC order fulfillment, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing
- Develop and execute strategies to optimize e-commerce fulfillment speed, accuracy, and cost-efficiency
- Oversee and manage the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) shipping team, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment across all online sales channels
- Analyze and optimize e-commerce shipping workflows to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and increase throughput
- Supervise kitting operations, including scheduling, staffing, and quality control for subscription boxes, promotional bundles, and special e-commerce packaging
- Track and report on kitting performance metrics, including output, labor efficiency, and cost per kit
- Plan and manage kitting work orders and schedules to ensure alignment with customer demand, promotional calendars, and on-time fulfillment
- Monitor and manage e-commerce order volume forecasting to align staffing and resources with demand fluctuations, seasonal peaks, and promotional events
- Ensure inventory accuracy for e-commerce SKUs through cycle counts, audits, and real-time inventory tracking
- Coordinate with E-Commerce, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to align fulfillment operations with online sales strategies, promotions, and product launches
- Manage relationships with parcel carriers and last-mile delivery providers to negotiate rates and ensure service level agreements are met
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to minimize order errors, damages, and customer complaints
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technology adoption to enhance e-commerce fulfillment operations
- Implement and enforce safety standards and operational procedures within the e-commerce fulfillment area
- Manage returns processing workflows to ensure efficient inspection, restocking, and disposition of returned merchandise
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, and select qualified e-commerce fulfillment staff based on skills, knowledge, and job requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop team leads and warehouse associates within the e-commerce fulfillment operation
- Manage performance through regular evaluations, goal-setting, coaching, and ongoing training
- Direct daily task assignments and provide guidance and support as needed
- Partner with HR on disciplinary actions, employee relations, and workforce planning
- Manage work schedules and staffing levels to accommodate e-commerce order volume fluctuations and peak seasons
- Approve PTO requests, timesheets, and ensure accurate labor tracking
Qualifications:
- 3 years of warehouse or distribution experience with a focus on e-commerce fulfillment or DTC operations (required)
- Previous management or supervisory experience leading fulfillment teams (required)
- Strong understanding of e-commerce order management, pick/pack/ship processes, and returns logistics
- Experience with small parcel shipping (UPS, FedEx, USPS) and rate optimization
- Experience with kitting, subscription fulfillment, or promotional packaging operations
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and e-commerce platforms (SAP preferred; Shopify, WMS, or OMS experience a plus)
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred); equivalent combination of education and experience considered
Schedule:
- Full-time, approximately 40 hours/week (additional hours may be required during peak periods and promotional events)
- On-site at the Montgomery, Alabama facility
