Manager / Blueprint Technician

Star Body Works – Medford, Oregon
Full-Time

Star Body Works is looking for an experienced Manager / Blueprint Technician to join our Medford team. This is a key leadership position for someone who understands collision repair from the initial estimate through final delivery and knows how to build a complete, accurate repair plan before production begins.

We are looking for someone who can lead a team, maintain accountability, identify production roadblocks, and ensure vehicles move through the repair process safely and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of collision repair industry experience required.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with estimating, blueprinting, vehicle disassembly, OEM repair procedures, supplements, parts identification, insurance communication, and production management.

CCC ONE experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily shop production and workflow
  • Perform and oversee complete vehicle blueprinting
  • Ensure vehicles receive thorough disassembly to identify all accident-related damage
  • Build complete and accurate repair plans before vehicles enter production
  • Review estimates for missing operations, labor, parts, materials, and required procedures
  • Research and document applicable OEM repair procedures
  • Identify required pre-scans, post-scans, ADAS calibrations, initializations, measurements, and safety inspections
  • Ensure required photos and documentation are captured
  • Create and process supplements when additional damage or required operations are identified
  • Work with insurance companies to properly document and support necessary repairs
  • Coordinate with technicians, estimators, parts staff, painters, CSRs, and vendors
  • Monitor vehicles throughout production and identify potential delays before they affect delivery
  • Maintain accountability for repair quality, documentation, cycle time, and production goals
  • Conduct production meetings and communicate priorities to the team
  • Ensure parts and repair information are correct before work progresses
  • Help resolve production bottlenecks and keep work moving between departments
  • Maintain organized and detailed repair-file documentation
  • Ensure repairs follow OEM procedures and Star Body Works repair standards
  • Assist with customer or insurance communication when necessary
  • Lead by example and maintain a professional, accountable work environment

What We're Looking For

We want someone who doesn't simply manage from an office. This position requires someone who understands the repair process and is willing to get involved when necessary.

You should be able to look at a damaged vehicle, understand how the collision energy traveled through it, identify areas requiring additional investigation, and develop a repair plan that gives the production team clear direction.

The right candidate will be:

  • Highly organized
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong with documentation
  • Comfortable holding employees accountable
  • Experienced working with insurance companies
  • Knowledgeable about modern vehicle technology and ADAS
  • Familiar with OEM repair procedures
  • Able to identify hidden damage and missing estimate operations
  • Able to manage multiple vehicles and priorities simultaneously
  • Focused on quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • A strong communicator and team leader
  • Proactive about solving problems rather than waiting for problems to become delays

Collision Repair Industry: 5 years – REQUIRED

Management, estimating, or blueprinting experience is strongly preferred.
