What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive 12V Installation Technician (Upfit / Emergency Equipment) position at Star Auto Sales?

We are a high-volume 12V installation shop specializing in:
- Emergency lighting (light bars, strobes)
- Sirens & control modules
- Wiring harnesses & power distribution
If your experience is outdated, inconsistent, or sloppy - this is not the job for you.
If you take pride in clean wiring, can follow diagrams, and want steady work - keep reading.
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
- Install emergency lighting, sirens, and power systems
- Run clean, organized wiring (loom, routing, proper connections — no shortcuts)
- Work alongside experienced A-level installers
- Handle some installs independently once up to speed
- Maintain production pace in a high-volume environment
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE HERE
- You can follow wiring diagrams without hand-holding
- Your installs are clean, organized, and repeatable
- You stay focused and move with purpose
- You show up every day and don’t disappear
- You contribute to a team that runs at 90–100% efficiency
DO NOT APPLY IF:
- Your 12V experience is not recent (last 1–2 years)
- You’ve been out of the field for years
- You don’t have your own basic tools
- You struggle with wiring diagrams
- Your work is sloppy (tape jobs, messy wiring, poor routing)
- You job hop or call out frequently
- You are glued to your phone during work
- You cannot pass a background check or don’t have a valid license
YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF:
- You have recent hands-on 12V install experience (or formal training strong fundamentals)
- You’ve installed lighting, sirens, or similar systems
- You care about doing the job right the first time
- You want steady, consistent work (not custom one-off jobs)
- You work well on a team but can also handle tasks independently
