Your Opportunity
Stantec's is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our team of Environmental Scientists, Geologists, and Engineers in Western Washington. Our Washington-based Environmental Services team is growing, and we have a need for a Geologist with 5 years of experience in the environmental field and a strong interest in environmental assessment / cleanup.
This team member will be primarily focused on complex assessment, remediation, and compliance. Responsibilities will include field work activities, documentation, basic data analysis / data organization, and technical report preparation. Field work is performed in a range of weather conditions and qualified candidates must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to travel to project sites as needed. A current Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-Hour certificate is required or would need to be obtained as a condition of employment.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or Earth Sciences discipline, 5 years prior environmental consulting experience, along with demonstrated experience writing technical reports that summarize and interpret field data and laboratory analytical results. Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Successful candidates will pursue and acquire the following certifications prior to joining or within their first year :
- HAZWOPER Supervisor 8-hour Certification
- American Petroleum Institute WorkSafe Contractor Safety Training
- Washington State Underground Storage Tank Site Assessor Certification
- Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Certification
