We are hiring a Project Architect/Project Technical Lead to join Stantec Architecture Buildings Group in Alaska and join our growing team. Our architects, engineers, interior designers, sustainability specialists, building envelope, and technologists are passionate about design. Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Alaska Practice seeks to find a talented Project Architect/Project Technical Lead. The ideal candidate will have experience in all phases of planning and design. You will be developing client relationships and working with Architects and Engineering for our Alaska clients and beyond. In this role you will develop and grow your skill sets while mentoring developing professionals. We are looking for teammates who can create and foster solutions, maintain a fast-paced mindset, and are interested in participating within a growing practice.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key technical leadership role and be an essential part of a project team working on all phases of a design project from Programming and Schematic Design through Construction Administration.
  • Demonstrate technical skills on major projects.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Mentoring developing professional staff.
  • Lead project coordination and site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
  • Work with teams across multiple Stantec offices.
  • Develop, review proposals, reports, and contract documents in accordance with Stantec policy.
  • Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, and potential recruits.
  • Develop project specifications, including front end specifications.
  • Help develop document standards.
  • Oversee quality and quality control for projects.
  • BIM Administrator for projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Multidisciplinary experience.
  • Demonstrated design acumen and leadership on major projects.
  • Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building and managerial skills.
  • Proven leadership in guiding teams through projects utilizing Revit and AutoCAD for documentation.
  • Possession of a LEED credential is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts.
  • Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel formatting skills.
  • Knowledge or Bluebeam and Bluebeam Studio
  • Matterport software knowledge preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect in Alaska
  • 15 years experience working with multi-discipline teams, including BIM operations and administration.
