Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for an intern for our Okemos, MI location to work primarily within our environmental, engineering, and construction team within Environmental Services. Opportunities exist to support other civil, infrastructure and environmental groups in the metro area, dependent on workload.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. - As an intern, you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to engineering and construction. The primary duties for this internship position will entail construction observation, QA/QC testing, and communication with contractors and clients. The wide variety of tasks you’ll be involved in makes every day interesting by expanding your knowledge as you gain field and office experience. In this role you can grow alongside the best in the industry to enrich your career path.
- Serve internal and external clients by being responsive and reliable.

- Construction observation and documentation, field testing and field measurements (construction CQA).
- Construction progress reports and communicate with project team, contractor, and client as required.
- Soil and water sampling.
- Assist with drafting, computer modeling, data entry, preparation of construction plans and specifications, technical memos, and reports, as required.
- Provide support to other groups within Stantec, as business needs dictate and workload allows, for exposure to other disciplines and client types related to engineering and environmental science.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills and customer service experience are desired.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field OR an Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related program.
- Previous construction observation experience is strongly preferred.
- Additional relevant experience is also preferred, including soil testing, surveying, drafting, and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
