Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions and assisting with their needs. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude will contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. Must be at least 21 years of age with no felonies.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries about products and services.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed.
Skills
- Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in transactions.
- Experience in product demos and the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Proven upselling techniques that enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Basic math skills, including retail math for accurate pricing and change calculations.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries via phone.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail sales environment is preferred but not required.
