What are the responsibilities and job description for the Runner position at Stanley Theatre?
Duties:
- Help the theatre’s administrative staff with errands, deliveries, and office tasks as needed.
- Delivery of show posters to establishments (i.e. taverns, bars, libraries, schools, veterans’ organizations, senior centers, etc.)
- Post signs throughout the community to promote events at the theatre
- Assist marketing and front-of-house staff during performances (ushering, distributing programs, assisting patrons)
- Participation in team meetings
- Provide proof of performance on the job
- Possible driving of artists, crew members, or equipment to and from venues, hotels, or airports
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school
- Must have valid drivers license, and reliable transportation
- Must be able to work in Utica and the greater area including Rome, Vernon, Herkimer, etc.
- Typical commitment is 5-10 hours per week
- Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for large and small projects
- Strong interest in live theatre, production management, and/or the arts
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to take direction and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and flexible hours during production periods
- Must maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with artists and productions
- Must clear background checks
- Must be motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude
Pay:
Stipend: Based on experience; negotiable
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
Work Location: In person
