Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel and Gas-powered vehicles and equipment, primarily focusing on buses and other large transportation assets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vehicles through routine inspections and timely repairs, often working on-site at various locations. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered buses and related equipment to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines and associated systems.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical wiring.
- Perform on-site repairs at various locations, requiring mobility and adaptability to different work environments.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Collaborate with fleet managers to schedule maintenance and ensure minimal downtime of vehicles.
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Keep Service truck, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with a focus on bus or large vehicle maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems, and general mechanical repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently in a mobile setting.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair software is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate service vehicles is preferred.
