Pay: Starting at $19.59 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
The Stanley G. Falk School, one of the largest Special Education Day Schools in New York State, is seeking a dependable Custodian to support daily cleaning and facility upkeep.
In this role, you will perform a variety of custodial and cleaning duties to ensure classrooms, offices, and common areas remain sanitary, safe, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform routine cleaning (floors, windows, walls, furniture, restrooms, and fixtures)
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor machines, buffers)
- Perform floor care including stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing
- Identify cleaning needs and resolve issues efficiently
- Follow all safety procedures and cleaning protocols
- Monitor building security (doors, windows, general safety awareness)
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, and common areas
- Work collaboratively with the custodial and facilities team
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning work preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures
