POSTED ON 4/13/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/12/2026
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in Administration and is an experienced professional who has exceptional leadership, creativity, and interpersonal skills, and possesses broad experience in administration and operations. This individual will be an excellent communicator, will develop and present complex information to multiple audiences, will thrive in an environment focused on innovation, and will meet the needs of the Sheriff’s Office.

About The Position

The Adult Detention Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions for the Sheriff’s Adult Detention Division. The Manager I/II provides leadership and oversight of non-sworn operations including booking, court document processing, incarcerated individual records and statistics, property and visitation services, and coordination with the courts, patrol records division, and other law enforcement agencies. This position will directly supervise (4) Supervising Custody Technicians, (23) Custody Technicians and (2) Community Service Officers—ensuring integrity, efficiency, compliance with policy, and proper work performance from all staff. The Manager will report to the Adult Detention Captain and collaborate closely with sworn and civilian leadership.

The Manager I classification is the entry-level classification in this series, while the Manager II classification is the advanced, experienced, journey-level classification in this series. The Manager II class differs from the Manager I in that the incumbent works under general direction and is assigned responsibilities of a more critical nature, which require a higher degree of independent judgment. Except for the complexity and level of independence, tasks assigned to incumbents in this class are essentially the same as those assigned incumbents in the lower class of Manager I.
