Brief Overview
The Manager of Clinical Operations will have responsibility for the clinical operations of assigned SMP medical practice sites including clinical staffing, finance, performance management, clinic management, employee engagement, and implementation of LEAN/5S methodologies and A3 problem solving, and implementation of evidence-based practices. The Manager of Clinical Operations will work closely with the Site Director, clinical staff, clinicians, and the management team to implement SMP organizational initiatives and goals.
What you will do
Management Duties:
- Manages the recruitment process, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding clinical staff.
- Manages staffing, delegates and coordinates tasks in order to maintain an environment which ensures effective, quality patient care. This may include coverage of direct patient care.
- Develops and implements strategic, financial and tactical plans and objectives for the clinic, meets clinic goals/outcomes, and provides regular and ad hoc reporting related to clinic’s performance and operational needs, ensuring compliance with SMP policies and procedures.
- Through the utilization of LEAN and 5S methodologies and A3 problem resolution, assesses access for patient flow and analyzes needs for the practice to ensure quality patient care and engagement of staff.
- Develops and monitors departmental budgets for controlling operational and capital expenses.
- Ensures regulatory compliance and reporting as needed.
- Acts as an escalation resource and intervenes as appropriate.
- Ensures department(s) is operating safely in accordance with EHS, Quality, and Infection control standards.
Project Management:
- Identification and implementation of QI projects related to clinical standards of care.
- Ensures necessary equipment and resources are available.
- Coordinates and implements space planning or other special projects.
- Works closely with staff, identifies and implements strategies designed to maximize employee engagement.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Applies Just Culture framework for employee performance management.
- Works closely with the physicians and allied health professionals, utilizing efficient communication to develop protocol and ensures practice needs are met.
- Actively and constructively participates in SMP Leadership Teams and other cross collaborative committees and workgroups.
- Collaborates with leadership, provides operational oversight, and works towards standardization of clinical processes at assigned clinical locations.
All other duties as assigned including department-specific functions and responsibilities:
- Performs other duties and participates in organization projects as assigned.
- Adheres to safety, P4P’s (if applicable), HIPAA and compliance policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or in-progress.
- Minimum of five (5) years of RN experience in healthcare operations, leadership, clinical services, or related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing supervision/management experience in OB/GYN setting.
- RN - Registered Nurse – CA State Licensure.
- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSN degree.
- Ambulatory care or Specialty certification.

Pay: $67.70 - $89.71 per hour
