Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and technical documents using advanced estimating software such as Stack CT, Simpro, Bluebeam.
- Managing client information using CRMs like FieldPulse and Simpro.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate pricing strategies that reflect current market conditions and project scope.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, ensuring all components are accounted for in the estimate.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure optimal costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Review project drawings and specifications to identify potential risks or discrepancies related to NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and during execution to support effective cost control measures.
- Assist in developing bid proposals, scope of work documentation, and contract negotiations that align with company goals and client expectations.
- Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that facilitate scheduling, resource allocation, and overall construction planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems.
- Strong electrical background with hands-on construction site experience or construction management knowledge.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam for document markup is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Simpro or FieldPulse and Microsoft Teams greatly appreciated.
- Deep understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive vendor relationships.
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
