Standing Bear High School is seeking a para-educator who has a desire to work with students within the Life Skills Program or Resource Room. Applicants will work in collaboration with classroom teachers to assist students with special needs, individually or in small groups, who have academic and/or behavioral needs. Support could take place in both self-contained classrooms and in general education classrooms, focusing on inclusion and flexible service delivery models. Physical assistance may be needed with tasks such as wheelchair maneuvering, feeding, positioning, bathroom use, diapering, and lifting. Good attendance, collaboration, and communication skills will also be needed for this position. Additional duties involving the supervision of students may be assigned when needed.
