What You'll Do
- Manage customer complaints and returns; Manage the company's non-conformance databases.
- Lead problem solving activities utilizing industry standard methodologies: 8D’s, 5 why’s, 3x5, Ishikawa fish bone diagrams.
- Work with Sales and Supply Chain staff on customer returns and vendor issues
- Direct or inform technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
- Perform initial analysis and testing on customer returns/suspect parts and disposition accordingly. Work with Production, Manufacturing, and Engineering personnel on RCCA
- Complete FAI reports per AS9102 for submittal to customer
- Conduct Process audits and participate in the Layered Process Audit program. Plan and conduct AS9100 Internal Audits as part of the audit team.
- Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures. Experience with APQP and PPAP process (Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plan)
- With input from Engineering, plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component. Develop Incoming Inspection requirements
- Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, assist with maintaining customer-specific requirements, Supplier quality manuals, and company quality records.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods and other Quality tools for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Participate in Production and Vendor MRB activities
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Develop procedures and work instructions as needed
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
- Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities and present technical and program information to team members and management.
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
- Manage multiple demands (Internal and External) while demonstrating good attention to detail, schedules, and deliverables
What You'll Bring
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or other technical field
- Two-year minimum experience in a manufacturing environment as a Quality Engineer.
- Hands-on experience applying quality principles.
- Quality certification (ex: CQT, CCT, CQE, or CRE) is a plus.
- 1-2 years’ experience with AS9100 or IATF16949
