What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate EDM machines (Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, Hole Drill EDM) to perform precision machining.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining operations.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators to inspect work and ensure accuracy.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as needed to maintain specifications.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of EDM equipment and work area.
- Work with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Maintain detailed records of production, maintenance, and quality checks.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5 years experience as an EDM machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong knowledge of EDM processes and machine programming (FANUC, Mitsubishi, Sodick, etc.).
- Familiarity with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
