What are the responsibilities and job description for the Troubleshooter Apprentice position at Standard Utility Construction?
Job Description:
Responsible for reactive emergency restoration on energized and de-energized services, secondary and primary conductors and equipment from below 600 volts up to 25kv. Will be working alone the majority of the time. Must be safety conscious as this position will work in various hazardous situations. Hours will be on a rotating schedule and will include being on call 24 hours per day/7 days a week.
Minimum Requirements:
4 years electric distribution construction/maintenance experience preferred. Internal applicants must be a Serviceman Level 2 or higher. Must be qualified to work on energized high and low voltages up to 25kv with direct supervision. Must be able to climb wood poles, operate a bucket truck and perform pole top rescues.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces. Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours. Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather.
