The Process Engineer will work on assigned projects within the quality assurance and manufacturing functions, focusing on analyzing and optimizing existing business processes to drive continuous operational improvement. This role will assist the management team in the implementation, and monitoring of process enhancements. Responsibilities Include: Find new ways to improve the operation in terms of cost, turn time, and quality. Identify areas of improvement in manufacturing operations. Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards Work with existing facilities on productivity improvement projects. Initiates and/or manages cost reductions and improvement projects Identify areas to reduce waste in all manufacturing processes, focusing on process improvements using LEAN methodology Implement programs and projects on time and on budget Use professional concepts in creative ways in working on assignments Responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and reporting as necessary to complete assignments Collects, analyzes, and presents engineering data to evaluate projects. Solves complex problems within depth evaluation of a variety of factors Requires the ability to identify cost reduction opportunities, estimate cost impact, research available solutions and implement projects Set clear goals and lead a team to achieve those goals Conduct and lead project meetings with the management team Work with both leadership and hourly production to ensure capital projects and other improvements are both cost and resource efficient Use technical skills to educate others in the areas of lean manufacturing and/or other process improvement programs Work to resolve issues, improve quality, reduce customer complaints and ensure consistent batch quality and improve material yield Collaborate with the Process Development group to facilitate the introductions of new products, process improvements and new technology into the manufacturing area Coordinate plant layouts, machine installation and start-up processes, and set up and operation instructions when necessary Other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Include: Education: Required: BS in Engineering or Textile Sciences (or similar) Experience: Required: Internship or Engineering Project in college Preferred: Prior experience in textile or other manufacturing Skills: Required: Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office). Understanding of and experience with root cause analysis and continuous process improvement methods (i.e. LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Pareto Analysis) Special Requirements: Frequent typing/data entry, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
