What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operator – level 1 position at Standard Sand & Silica Company?
Description
Introductory level plant worker. Primary responsibilities include basic job functions within the plants such as bag stacking, day to day housekeeping, filling customer orders, and plant maintenance.
Job Duties:
- Perform a variety of plant functions including filling orders, stacking product, and general plant maintenance
- Operate equipment in a safe manner
- Run bagging machine at facilities that are equipped with such
- Stretch wraps orders as required by customer
- Operate forklift to move and arrange stock
- Load trucks as directed from bins
- Maintain warehouse in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
- Provide information and assistance to plant manager as necessary
***Note: It is intended that level 1 personnel will train to achieve level 2 job status. During tenure as level 1 personnel, employee will be trained to operate loaders, palletizers, dryers, loading of flatbed trucks, and other plant procedures.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lb. bags continuously throughout the day
- Must also be able to lift 100 lbs. occasionally
- Must have desire to learn and be willing to undertake job responsibilities
- Must be able to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Observe and follow all safety principles and practices
- Must be able to work well with others
- Must Be able to pass a Drug test & Background Check
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Drivers License and high school GED or equivalent are desirable, but not required
