Summary
The Plant Trainer is responsible for carrying out daily and weekly training detail by developing, auditing, and administrating the training program for new and existing personnel. Primary responsibility is ensuring all personnel are properly trained. All training has to be properly documented and recorded and placed in the associates’ training file. This includes SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and all applicable processes.
This position is responsible for the transfer of best practices and knowledge of production functions and processes and the detailed aspects of production processes and the typical problems and situations ordinarily encountered on the production floor.

Essential Duties And Reponsibilities
- Provide production management a weekly report with a list of new and existing personnel that have completed training
- Helps develop and manages the training that supports the Company’s production requirements and business needs. Helps ensure training programs are compliant with stated company goals and state, federal, and industry rules and regulations in partnership with Operations, Quality, Safety and Human Resources.
- Continuously reviews Operations documents, including but not limited to Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and methods in collaboration with shift Managers and Supervisors to ensure he/she is up-to-date with the latest information.
- Maintains individual training plans and records for all employees. Works with Leads to certify employee’s skill attainment. Tracks employees’ progress in the training management software. Ensures the training management software is updated with all training methods, courses and necessary training materials.
- Identify areas for training and development
- Ensure requirements and documentation meet business and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate classroom training for designated quarterly Alchemy training modules
- Administrates training roster – Update when training is completed
- Train new personnel on knife safety and other job specific skills
- Train new personnel on product specifications and operation of selected equipment.
- Retrains personnel when needed and supports quarterly safety training
- Oversees new hire orientation for safety and good manufacturing practice (GMP) training, including how to maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
- Demonstrates proper dress and shoe requirements for various jobs with all new hires
- Ensure plant maintains compliance to British Retail Consortium (BRC) food safety requirements on employee training and plant safety
- Maintains/updates the job description manual.
- Oversee all Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) training documentation for designated Dallas maintenance and specified crew members
- Develop and administrate revised safety or equipment training required for any new federal regulations or when new machinery arrives.
- Assist with Quality Audits
- Other duties as assigned to help in other areas when needed
- Set an example for others in complying with company policies and procedures
- Must be flexible to working overtime and working 1nd shift when needed to train/re-train.
- Help translate when needed.
- Good attendance is a must.

- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
- Preferred 2 years Manufacturing or QA experience in the food industry
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications
- Detail oriented. Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions
- Oral and written communication skills
- Presentation skills utilizing Microsoft computer Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint software
- Directing change in support of continuous improvement
