Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up CNC machines by installing and aligning tooling, fixtures, and accessories according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
- Support CNC programming activities using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify programs for accuracy before production.
- Prepare tooling setups for CNC milling machines and CNC lathes to optimize machining operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and machinery using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Operate forklifts and materials handling equipment safely for the movement of raw materials, tooling components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
- Collaborate with machine operators and engineers to troubleshoot setup issues, improve processes, and maintain high standards of safety and quality control.
- Maintain detailed records of setups, tooling configurations, and calibration data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of machining or CNC operations (willing to train the right person)
- Ability to use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependable, self-motivated, and ready to learn
- Mechanical aptitude is a strong plus
