Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 / hour
Standard Iron is seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Assistant to join our team in a part-time capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for a college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting, or a professional looking for a consistent afternoon schedule.
You will support our financial operations by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and assisting with daily office administrative tasks. This role offers hands-on experience in a professional corporate environment with mentorship from our senior finance team.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist with reviewing vendor invoices, processing payments, and recording incoming customer receipts.
- Data Entry: Maintain the general ledger with high accuracy, ensuring all financial transactions are documented correctly.
- Vendor Communication: Act as a point of contact for vendors regarding payment status and resolving minor billing discrepancies.
- Expense Tracking: Help track company expenses and ensure proper documentation is filed for month-end reporting.
- Administrative Support: Provide general office help, including managing digital correspondence, filing, and answering occasional phone calls.
- Office Coordination: Monitor office supply levels and assist in maintaining an organized, professional workspace.
- Education: Currently pursuing (Junior/Senior year) or completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience: Previous office experience or relevant internship preferred, but we are willing to train a candidate with a strong academic background in accounting.
- Technical Skills: * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting data, simple formulas).
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Must be highly accurate with numbers and data entry.
- Reliability: Ability to consistently work the 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM shift.
