Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Glass Installer to install storefront systems, curtain walls, doors, glass panels, and related hardware in commercial environments. This role involves working both independently and as part of a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial glazing, can read and interpret shop drawings, and is comfortable working on active construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial glass systems including:
- Storefronts
- Curtain wall systems
- Glass doors and entrances
- Interior and exterior glass applications
- Install and secure metal framework, door hardware, and structural components
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation
- Work alongside project managers, contractors, and team members to meet project timelines
- Ensure all installations meet safety codes, quality standards, and project requirements
- Handle glass safely, including measuring, cutting (if applicable), and fitting materials
- Operate lifts, scaffolding, and other jobsite equipment as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles
- Provide professional communication when interacting with contractors and jobsite personnel
- Track progress and complete required job documentation
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of commercial glass installation or related construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Experience installing storefront, curtain wall, or commercial door systems
- Strong understanding of installation tools, materials, and safety practices
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aluminum framing systems and commercial hardware installation
- Familiarity with construction site protocols and coordination with other trades
- Forklift, boom lift, or scissor lift certification
- OSHA certification (10 or 30 preferred)
- Experience in fabrication or glass handling in a shop environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, and carry 50 lbs regularly
- Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lift equipment
- Perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
- Work in various environments including outdoor construction sites and unfinished buildings
