What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Inspector position at Standard Fiber?
Make a direct impact on product quality. As a Quality Control Inspector, you’ll examine textile materials and finished goods (retail-ready bedding, hotel items, pregnancy pillows, dog beds, pillow shells, and fillings like polyester fiber/foam/blends) to ensure everything meets spec and ships right the first time.
Schedule: 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM.
What you’ll do
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process work, and finished goods against spec sheets and standards.
- Measure and verify dimensions/fit/function; confirm color, texture, and finish quality.
- Approve or reject lots; tag, segregate, and document defects and rework.
- Record results in reports, logs, and spreadsheets; update quality databases.
- Verify packing materials/labels meet customer protocols and SOPs.
- Collaborate with Production, Sourcing, and QA to resolve issues fast.
- Support continuous improvement and 5S/lean quality initiatives.
What you’ll bring
- Sharp attention to detail; proven ability to spot deviations from spec.
- Basic computer skills (Excel a must); inventory scanner experience preferred.
- Clear verbal/written communication; comfortable with production partners.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Requirements & work environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 2–3 years in QC preferred.
- Stand/walk for extended periods in a production setting.
- Safely lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs as needed; use inspection tools and PPE.
- Adequate visual acuity to detect defects and color variations.
