Assistant Superintendent

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Superintendent to add to our growing team of talented construction professionals!

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working on large commercial construction projects and a good understanding of the current construction market. This person should be able to lead teams during all aspects of new and renovation construction projects from start to finish.  A successful Assistant Superintendent will also have a good knowledge base in all aspects of construction, including building materials, sequencing, equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Support site superintendent and project manager
• Collaborate with project team discussing potential work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.
• Review, recall, & comprehend contract documents
• Ensure that construction operations are carried out in a safe manner and meet OSHA/record-keeping requirements
• Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and procedures
• Maintain a good working relationship with subcontractors and vendors
• Collect and analyze information for the project
• Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor the project team
• Manage subcontractors' sequence and schedules
• Provide consistent and clear communication with construction team and inspectors
• Report any safety concerns or or any other jobsite issues
• Review and understand the contract and subcontracts, including understanding risk and risk mitigation plans
• Maintain project administration correspondence and comply with documentation requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Work experience of either three or more years as an Assistant Superintendent or five or more years as a Carpenter Foreman in commercial construction
• Must be willing to travel if necessary
• Procore and Bluebeam experience strongly preferred
• Strong leadership qualities
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills and personal integrity
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• OSHA 30
• Valid Driver License & clean driving record
• Must be able to walk job sites daily, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain
• Ability to work extended hours to meet project deadlines

Standard Construction offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental/vision benefits, paid time off, 401k, paid holidays, and company-paid life insurance.  The posted annual base pay range reflects anticipated compensation for this position at the time of posting. Compensation may vary outside of the listed range depending on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s work experience, skills, education, and geographic location and the Company’s budget at the time of offer.
