We are currently seeking an entry-level AutoCAD Draftsman to join our engineering team based in Savannah, GA.

As a vital member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD software, collaborating with design teams, and contributing to the success of engineering projects. This includes understanding client requirements and translating design concepts into detailed drawings for construction and manufacturing projects.

Core responsibilities

• Create and modify drawings: Produce high-quality, detailed technical drawings and 3D models from rough sketches, notes, or existing plans using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborate with teams: Work with architects, engineers, and other professionals to integrate design elements and ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Revise and update: Make necessary changes to existing drawings based on feedback or updated specifications.
• Check for accuracy: Review and analyze drawings for errors, inconsistencies, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare documentation: Compile supporting documentation, including product materials, dimensions, and specifications.
• Maintain files: Organize and maintain a database of all drawings and related documentation. 

Qualifications and skills

• Education: Associate’s degree or certificate in drafting, CAD, preferred.
• Software proficiency: Must have working knowledge of industry-standard CAD software, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Technical knowledge: Understanding of drafting principles, engineering, or architectural concepts is essential.
• Attention to detail: A high level of accuracy is crucial for producing precise technical drawings.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to collaborate with other professionals.
• Problem-solving: Ability to interpret technical information and solve design-related problems is key.
