Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Administer medications and follow care plans meticulously to ensure safety and adherence to prescribed treatments
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in social activities and community outings to promote mental stimulation and socialization
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties within the residence or care facility
- Respond promptly to emergencies with first aid or CPR as needed, coordinating with emergency services when required
- Support residents during outings or appointments within the community, ensuring their safety at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work compassionately with people with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Must be patient, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality support in a team setting
